The quiet valleys and country roads winding through avenues of olives and cypresses can often take you to unique ancient towns each with their own history linked to their location. During the Medieval Era, Tuscany was home to various feudal townships that then came to form the important Republic of Siena and the emerging Republic of Florence. The strife between these two territories took place along the lands now planted with prized vineyards known as the Chianti Classico region. Many of our country properties in Chianti still incorporate the defense towers and extensive viewpoints used by both Siena and Florence until the 1500's. The stone walls, century old beams and terracotta floors of the country estates have witnessed a multitude of generations,of history and create a very special atmosphere that is unique to this lovely area of Italy.
